ureact powered by DKMS is a platform that empowers students and their communities to come together to step up to blood cancers and blood disorders. We do this through running donor drives, creating awareness, and fundraising. ureact uses initiators, advocates, and volunteers to promote the mission of DKMS, the world’s largest donor center.
Our values lie in community, awareness and action. In a world that moves faster than ever, it’s easy to get desensitized to the realities of those around us. Often, we don’t care about a cause until it affects us, our family or friends. What if we can change that?
ureact challenges us to do exactly that and react before it’s too late. It’s time to take action- whether it’s bringing your roommates to a drive, forwarding a text to your infamous group chat or simply posting to your Instagram stories. Through our activities, we’re aiming to expand the registry to create a more diverse donor pool so more people have a second chance at life.
DKMS is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancers like leukemia and other blood-related illnesses inspiring both men and women around the world to register as bone marrow and blood stem cell donors. DKMS is providing patients with a second chance at life, working closely with families from diagnosis to transplant and beyond. The donor journey begins with a swab of the cheek which leads to a lifesaving transplant. DKMS, originally founded in Germany in 1991 by Dr. Peter Harf, has organizations in Poland, Chile, the United Kingdom and the United States. The U.S. office was started in 2004. Globally, DKMS has registered more than 8.6 million people. To join the fight against blood cancer or for more information, please go to dkms.org.
